Am I ‘The One’?

I’m 1 of 20 Most Wanted Ruumate Finalist? Rawr~ AWESHUM!

Yeah people, the Gods must be crazy to put me into this predicament. Who’d have thought people would actually think that ‘ME’ of all 7billion humanoids on this planet to actually be ‘popular’?

Well, it all started out with getting a call from Andrew Oon of Ruumz, which resulted in a very odd conversation that pretty much summed me being nominated by Mr. Advertlets himself, Josh Lim despite me never even signing up. In fact, I was never one of popularity contests coz I never had the confidence 1) I’m not popular and 2) I find it demeaning to create a hype that puts others down.

But since I’m already in, just looked through the schematics and pretty impressed with the prizes and thought hey… maybe it could be fun? Plus maybe I could be a testament to all underdogs out there that hey, one of you guys can actually make it into the big leagues.

So if I play, I play to win. Or as how 50cents said, “Get Rich, or die trying.”

Never in my mind did I realise how big this competition was that we were featured on the dailies, net and radio. Haha funny watching the expressions of other media buddies while they were there. So try and spot which is me.
No prizes for guessing, tho. haha

So what’s this all about?

Yeah, everyone’s been asking me abt dis.

Firstly, it’s sth like Cleo’s 50 Most Eligible Bachelor. Just that instead of JUST guys, it’s both guys and girls consisting of a popularity ‘vote’ contest, Ruumz Most Wanted Ruumate – that’s 70% votes, 30% judges scores.

Scores? Yes, scores… Judges will evaluate our weekly tasks and based on our stats and impression give us points and scores. And if you’re asking who are our judges…

Very much diverse as us Finalists, the judges too were from various backgrounds ranging from FACES Editor, DJs, Celebrity Journalist, even a Model.

Was pretty dumbfound finally meeting the same dude that kept me up during my childhood days as I studied, my fave radio DJ – Fly Guy there. And among others were Ross partnering up with him, making the unlikely duo called ‘The Bling Brothers” (don’t ask me, but it sounds like a corny version of the classic Mario Brothers)

Also in the mix was popular journalist, who like Josh Lim, is like  an unlikely coincidence bumping into him at a few events. If only I could get a dollar everytime I run into him I’d be rich by now. Fun fellow, interesting to talk to, and he’s like my Twitter News Guide, Niki Cheong (aka bangsarboy). hahaha… Yes people, he updates more times in a day than me changing my socks (which isn’t very often) haha

Then there was also the sexy, sultry Ms. Tv-Host cum actress, (who also happened to have appeared on Stuff’s cover) Sarah Lian. Friendly person in real life, as well as an interesting indivdual who’ve captured the media’s heart, foxy Sarah’s part of MWR’s Judges

And finally the last, but not least… is… uhh.. hrm… Editor-in-chief of FACES magazine, whom I haven’t had a chance to converse with. I’m more versed with the others in her team, being in the media line, like Alicia and Elaine. In fact, I left early during the ‘Meet & Greet’ session. So yeah.

So anyways, it’s a month-long campaign period where voters cast their votes 3times daily and 6times on weekends!

Okay, so how do I support?

#1: Firstly, is you gotta sign up with Ruumz. No, it’s not the club. Instead, it’s something like a social network site, kinda like Friendster, Facebook, hi5, etc.

#2: After you’re done, it’s now time to vote.

Probably one of the few good things about these sort of competition is finding out who are your friends. The type that are only there to share your glory and fun times? Or the ones who are there to help pick you up when the going gets tough.
