Put your hands up, for Fedde Le Grand!
This month’s featured artist that I’m currently keen on writing about is none other than (Put your hands up!) Fedde Le Grand whose been going Dutch all these while.
Popping out of nowhere, ‘Put your hands up for Detroit’ was produced in the Fedde’s very own bedroom in Dutchland, released by one of the biggest labels in dance, threw Fedde out into the world of Electronic Dance and into the limelight.
Fedde Le Grand – Put Your Hands Up For Detroit
Together with his good buddy and production partner Funkerman, they’ve chalked out absolute cross sections that made other DJs spin round. The Flamingo Recordings imprint now stands as one of the most forward-thinking and exciting labels in EDM, with top flight acts eagerly hanging on for news of new releases and remix work.
Fedde’s production talents have been called upon by the great and the good over the past few years. 2008 sees him work with two major music acts, Grammy Award-winning Black Eyed Peas front man Will.i.am, and Madonna – the name says it all. Famed for picking up the hottest talent, Madonna mixed Put your hands up for Detroit with Music for her recent promotional tour, to rapturous response, but the queen of pop didn’t stop there. Next came an invitation for Fedde to remix Give it 2 Me, the second single from the album Hard Candy. Fedde now joins a select group of producers to work with the Queen of Pop, including Mirwais, William Orbit and Stuart Price aka Jacques Lu Cont. The ultimate seal of approval if ever one were needed and straight from the queen of pop!

Throw in a little more sauciness into this already famed DJ, Fedde Le Grand’s also collabed with Ida Corr to release “Let Me Think About It”.
The song is the third Danish single of Ida Corr’s album Robosoul and the third single from Fedde le Grand, released in the UK, following the No. 1 smash hit “Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit“, and the well-received collaboration with Danish singer Camille Jones, “The Creeps“. “Let Me Think About It” became the most successful single for both artists. The single reached #2 on the UK Singles Chart on the October 7, 2007chart and stayed there for one more week. It has peaked at #14 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart, #58 in the Polish Singles Chart and #11 on South African Radio 5FM. The single also peaked at #3 in Romania.

In the United States it was released by Ida Corr (but listed as “Ida Corr vs. Fedde le Grand”) and reached number one on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay chart on February 9, 2008, making it the first import single to reach the chart, up until the week ending March 1, when Warner Bros. Records picked up the single for a US commercial release.

Add to all the above Fedde’s rammed DJ diary, including his residency at world-famous Pacha Ibiza, countless festivals and headline gigs around the world, and it’s clear that this is man who has conquered his game, plans to stay there for a long time to come. With his debut artist album Output released in the second half of 2008, he is set to storm the international music charts and cement his position as a household name. His passion for music is evident; the quality of his sound is undisputed.
(okay, this last bit I was lazy, so I didn’t edit or rewrite and copied directly  off Fedde Le Grand’s website. Please don’t kill me)
