(image from Inmagine.com not to be used for commercial purposes)Looking back at the past year, 2008’s been pretty eventful with loads of parties, the MASSIVE-ness as well as the letdowns. I’ll have to admit that I did miss some of the most happening parties around town, as well as Singapore’s ZoukOut ‘08. And as well as the major letdown of this year’s Global Gathering’s cancellation due to M’sias stupid political issues. So topping the charts for the parties that I felt were the best for the year that I managed to attend.. here’s my list.
RECAP 2008 Party List!
1. 42Below ‘Silent Disco’
2. Freedom Party @ Port Dickson
3. MASSIVE Rave Party
4.

1. Number ONE!!!
Event: 42Below Silent Disco Party
Venue: Pavillion KL
Rating: 5/5
Still topping the charts for my fave party of the year, would DEFINITELY be 42Below ‘Silent Disco’ party. In fact, they’re the FIRST ‘proper’ Silent Disco that even renders the Nokia’s NuffNang’s Silent Party speechless! As how Rhino said in Bolt, “The Awesome-ness..” there was the crowd wondered what the heck was going on with a freaking quiet crowd going “Yeah~!” ever so often, with not even a squeek of music thumping the air in front of the crowded shopping centre. Weird, huh? Wait till u get inside..
p/s: Sorry Rob, *ahem* corrected myself lolXD

2. Number TWO!!!
Event: Freedom Party (DJ Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Cosmic Gate)
Venue: Port Dickson
Rating: 4/5
When we say Freedom, we meant getting lost, traffic jams, astronomically highly over-priced, gut-wrenching parking fees and walking for 20 minutes to the venue only to be greeted by even-LONGER queues by idiot newbie ravers who, obviously have absolutely no idea that this rave was on the beach. Oh wait, they do. Honestly? Heels? In sand? Hullo~? Or carrying a big-ass bag, big enough to store a lifetime supply of chihuahuas in case of a holocaust? What is this? Summer camp? Geez.. but once past the stupid security, it was PARTY~ ALL THE WAY~! Locals were idiots only wanting to be seen, but the foreigners were fun to party with. Dancing and cheering, we joined ‘em chanting to Ferry Corsten’s name. Whoo~!

Feel da Freedom~!!

Freedom water bottles. Seriously? Talk about branding…

It’s Bright Pink! Gawd, the horror!

Yeah man, looks like the aliens have landed. Oh wait, it’s Tiesto.. my bad.

3. Number THREE!!!
Event: MASSIVE WORLDWIDE UNDERGROUND (Cosmic Gate, DJ Scott Project, Bass Agents)
Venue: CapSquare, KL
Rating: 4/5
Does size matter? Course it does! Especially when it comes to having a Rave, what’s better than having a MASSIVE crowd to pump up the music, crank up the strobes and blasts laser lights and AV visuals to the beats. Although lacking in alcohol, the music thumping and strobe lights flickering is definitely enough to send anyone’s adrenaline pumping on overtime. What’s more we bumped into familiar faces of Josh Lim, founder of Adverlets! Coolness~! (No pics though, damnit)

MASSIVE!!

Da crowd..

DJ Console above the AV screen!

Look up it’s a tall.. phallus thingy.. oh wait, it’s the KL Tower.

Lights, no camera, but Action!

Da view from da VIP section. W00t~!

And we’ve got the FBI to stop oncoming cheapos into the VIP area

Da beautiful strobe lights… wish I had one in my room.. da lurve..

Missed the fireworks, but you could see the confettis they shot thru da air!

Da malay dude with a mohawk wrapped in aluminium foil?
